Prof. Dr. Marco Prinz (C03) has been honoured with the University Medal by Rector Prof. Dr. Kerstin Krieglstein in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the University of Freiburg. The university highlighted Prof. Prinz’s groundbreaking research in neuroimmunology, which was also recognised with the prestigious Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize in 2020. His pioneering work has led to a fundamentally new understanding of immune responses within the brain.
