Die jährliche Schulveranstaltung mit Vorträgen über das Immunsystem von Ärzten und Wissenschaftlern des CCI & SFB 1160 findet am 06. Juni 2025 wieder statt.

Dr. Katrin Kierdorf, scientist of the CRC 1160 (C05N), has been accepted into the Heisenberg Programme from the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Prof. Dr. Dr. Melanie Börries, principal investigator in the CRC 1160 (Z02), has been awarded the Deutschen Krebspreis 2025 in the category “Translational Research.” This prestigious recognition highlights her groundbreaking work in the field of personalized cancer therapy.

Prof. Dr. Robert Zeiser (Bo9, B10N) has been honored with the esteemed E. Donnall Thomas Lecture Prize by the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy.

In the Lady Mary Montagu lecture series of the DGfI Commission on Gender Equality and Career Development, Prof. Dr. Susana Minguet (B01) will share her exciting research on “Harnessing TCR Discoveries for the Next GEneration of Immunotherapies”.

At the end of this year, Thomas Boehm will be departing from Freiburg. To honor his contributions, we have organized a small scientific farewell symposiume on Thursday, December 19th, at 16:00 at ZTZ. Following some introductory remarks, a surprise guest speaker will kick off the proceedings, setting the stage for Thomas Boehm’s own presentation.

Prof. Dr. Robert Zeiser (B09, B10N) is one of ten scientists to receive the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2025.
He is being honored for his groundbreaking work in the research and treatment of blood cancers, with a particular focus on transplant rejection and the immunological “cloaking” of tumors.

Two scientists from the CRC 1160 are currently among the most cited researchers worldwide in the “Clinical Medicine” category: Prof Dr Marco Prinz (C03), Institute of Neuropathology and Prof Dr Dr Bertram Bengsch (A03, Z01), Department of Internal Medicine II.

The 7th Annual Meeting of the Upper Rhine Immunology (URI) Group will be held in the Maurice Mueller Lecture Hall at the University of Basel’s Biozentrum on Friday 25th October 2024.
